Gandersheim, Germany is the home of Weineck Engineering, builders of some of the fastest road legal cars in the world. For 2006, Weineck created a Cobra replica with a massive 12.9 liter V8 engine. The first turn of the key activates a gigantic high-pressure fuel pump. To tromp and release the accelerator pedal means more than half a liter of finest nutrition (fuel) have arrived inside the ultra high-performance carburetor system to feed Weineck's custom milled V8 engine. The next turn activates the gigantic starter motor to spin the crankshaft resulting in an latent idle of 1000 rpm.
Above 5000 rpm the engine delivers its world record torque of 1300 ft.lbs (1,760 Nm) at 5600 rpm. The rev limiter is set to cut in at 8000 rpm and the engine reaches its maximum power of 1,100 hp at 7000 rpm. Infact, the engine revs faster than the classic Smith instrumentation can follow! However, power is nothing without control. That is why the Weineck Cobra 780 cui Limited Edition is built using a MIG welded, self-supporting tubular frame with a 4 inch diameter to absorb very high torsion forces created by the engine. Additionally, its body is deep drawn from carbon composite materials for maximum rigidity.

Mercedes-Benz
The design and appointments on the new C 63 AMG Estate are comfortably on a par with the sophisticated technology. The top-of-the-line AMG eight-cylinder model has been differentiated more clearly than ever from the series-production C-Class: typical hallmarks of the brand come in the shape of AMG bodystyling, the bonnet with power domes, the distinctive AMG radiator grille, the flared front wings, the AMG rear apron with its black diffusor insert and the AMG sports exhaust system with two sets of chromed twin tailpipes. The interior feel is dominated by the distinctive AMG sports seats with integral head restraints, the three-spoke AMG performance steering wheel with its flat underside and small 365-millimetre rim, and the tube-style AMG instrument cluster with its AMG-specific main menu. As an alternative to the standard-fit aluminium trim elements, AMG carbon trim can also be ordered as an option for the C 63 AMG Estate

Audi honed the character of its flagship for 2008: an even more precise driving feel, superior ride and acoustic comfort and subtle refinements to the design and interior underline the exceptional position of the sportiest saloon in the luxury class. Impressive handling characteristics, pioneering technology and exclusive design and equipment – the Audi A8 defines the notion of sports appeal in the luxury segment in a distinctive, masterly way.
Similarly to the handling characteristics, ride comfort has also been improved: the standard adaptive air suspension is now more responsive to minor irregularities in the road surface. The continuously variable shock absorbers feature new seals to reduce friction, new valves optimize the characteristics and the entire hydraulics system has been retuned. The A8 even moves smoothly over transverse joints, with no vibration whatsoever. Together with the package designed to insulate rolling and road noise, the luxury saloon from Audi offers outstanding comfort.
The acoustics of the A8 have been enhanced and optimized throughout by using innovative materials – after all, noise insulation at Audi is always viewed under the aspect of intelligent lightweight construction.
