Gandersheim, Germany is the home of Weineck Engineering, builders of some of the fastest road legal cars in the world. For 2006, Weineck created a Cobra replica with a massive 12.9 liter V8 engine. The first turn of the key activates a gigantic high-pressure fuel pump. To tromp and release the accelerator pedal means more than half a liter of finest nutrition (fuel) have arrived inside the ultra high-performance carburetor system to feed Weineck's custom milled V8 engine. The next turn activates the gigantic starter motor to spin the crankshaft resulting in an latent idle of 1000 rpm.
Even up to 4000 rpm, the Weineck Cobra 780 cui Limited Edition accelerates faster than any other supercar when fully driven. The accelerator pedal always has to be operated very gently and with respect.
However, power is nothing without control. That is why the Weineck Cobra 780 cui Limited Edition is built using a MIG welded, self-supporting tubular frame with a 4 inch diameter to absorb very high torsion forces created by the engine. Additionally, its body is deep drawn from carbon composite materials for maximum rigidity

Porsche today announced a new model for the Cayenne lineup designed specifically for the U.S. and Canadian markets. The V-8 powered Cayenne S Titanium Edition will be available beginning in mid-July. This sharp new addition to the Porsche Cayenne lineup of sporting SUVs features titanium-colored trim, exclusive exterior and interior finishes, and the Cayenne’s most popular options as standard equipment. The Cayenne S Titanium Edition is available in four distinct exterior colors, including two which are exclusive to the new model: “Pure Red” is a vibrant and overtly sporting shade, and “Iceland Silver Metallic” is a classic light silver tinged with cool blue. The Cayenne S Titanium Edition will also be available in “Black” and “Marine Blue Metallic.” Along with the door handle inlays, each Cayenne S Titanium Edition features body-colored rocker-panel extensions, helping frame the standard 19-inch wheels¨coated in a Titanium Metallic finish. Lotus is back with an entry level Elise that is set to propel the Hethel based sports car manufacturer further up the sales charts. The loss of the K series engine had temporarily created a hole in Lotus’ portfolio and its disappearance from the range was not good news for pure sportscar lovers right across the globe. The challenge of ‘plugging the gap’ has now been spectacularly addressed with the launch of the new Lotus Elise S.
The Lotus Elise S is built around the revolutionary and award winning extruded and bonded aluminium chassis, with a lightweight steel rear subframe. The chassis itself weighs just 68 kg (150 lbs) and has a stiffness of 9,500 Nm per degree. The body design remains unchanged from the classic 190 hp Lotus Elise R – why change the award-winning aerodynamic package and an elegant Lotus design just for the sake of it? The car’s standard specification will also delight, as nothing has been removed from the car to undermine the real value for money proposition afforded by Lotus’ new ‘firecracker’. The full Lotus Elise option menu is also available on Elise S, with the exception of a limited slip differential, ensuring the new car is easy to personalize to a customer’s individual requirements and preferences.

In October 2006, Porsche will launch the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS on the European market. The GT3 RS is distinguished by its performance capability and an unadulterated driving experience similar to that of a racing car. But while particularly suited for use on the track, the car also meets all requirements for road-legal sports cars.
The reference "RS" will quicken the pulse of Porsche connoisseurs. Models such as the legendary Carrera RS 2.7 of 1972 and the 1991 Type 964 911 RS were also sports cars that stood out on account of their extreme degree of maneuverability and handling. That tradition is continued with the new 911 GT3 RS. In common with its predecessors, it provides an homologation model for use in a range of racing series.

When the Eclipse Concept-E debuted at the 2004 North American International Auto Show, it gave a pretty good idea of what the next generation Eclipse would look like. Smooth rounded lines are reminiscent of the second generation Eclipse that ended production in the late nineties. Whether or not Eclipse fans liked the design of the concept, many of the styling cues from the concept remained when the actual production version was introduced just a year later. Making its way around the Monterey peninsula during the Pebble Beach Concours weekend, the Sunset Pearlescent Eclipse GT test car turned more than its share of heads in the abundance of classic and exotic cars. It's obviously a car that has the ability to be noticed. Now the Eclipse has hit showrooms, and Mitsubishi is hoping it will lead a revival for the company struggling in sales.
One of the main technical differences from the previous generation is the dimensions of the car. Mitsubishi has increased everything - wheelbase by .6 inches, width by 3.3 inches, and length by 2.9 inches. The main reason for the larger profile is that the Eclipse is based on the Galant sedan platform. While this might help with leg and head room, it definitely doesn't help with the weight. The base GS weighs in at a hefty 3274 lbs and the GT at a heavy 3472 lbs.
